2018 Pottery Camps
Our camps offer the opportunity to hand-build clay projects, and learn how to throw clay on the pottery wheel.
We encourage and help children from ages 7 to 15 to use their imagination to create.
The clay projects will be fired in our kilns and will be a permanent keepsake and reminder of their learning experience.
Each student will learn about the operation of a full service, working pottery studio and see how a wet clay project is transformed into a piece of pottery by firing it to a temperature of over 1,600 degrees C. They will also experiment with different types of clay techniques, such as slab, pinch and coil. If a child can imagine it, then we can help create it!
In class you will build with clay, slip glaze, explore the pottery wheel and work with glass.Other activities such as painting, drawing, outside games and scavenger hunts will also bee a part of our camps. Includes class and individual instruction, clay, materials, aprons, tools, kiln fring and glazes.
